THE PLAYS THE THING

The tone of the play Hamlet. The tone seems to feel lonely and trust issues as well not being understood. Hamlet has no one to trust, not even his mom. His friends were sent from the King (his uncle) to spy on him. Also anger. When hamlet tells his mother really rude things after the play and when he knew that his uncle had actually killed his father.

THE CLOWNS OF DEATH

Irony and displacement. When hamlet comes back to the palace he meets to gravediggers and Hamlet discribes them as “clowns”. And that’s where he starts thinking if there meaning in life has any effect at all to the world cause they care dead now. And then he starts thinking about his situation and starts comtiplating wether his cause has any meaning or it’s just the same as the clowns death.

Hamlet 2.0

What if In the play Hamlet had technology? I say if the play had technology to use. Such as phones. I would assume that hamlet would be telling his friends and posting in social media. About his anger towrads mother and stepfather. And the Guards would never have seen the ghost because they would be to distracted on there phones and that would cause hamlet not to avenge his father. And hamlet will just life through the struggle that his unlce is now with his wife. Hamlet would probably use his phone as a distraction by texting friends and on YouTube getting his mind off the situation.

Staying in Power

The parts that mostly stick to me from the play Hamlet are the dramatic sences. Well mostly the whole play is dramatic. But I understand more when we break it down. And know what’s actually happening in the play. And also to review it. Parts that I know in short words are, ghost apprears and hamlet is in search for vengeance and wants to make sure it’s actually his uncle. Once enough proof than he shall kill him but dose not go as planned . Oh and “to be or not to be” is whether he should deal with the situation or fight for his vengeance of his father.

(Backup) Hamlet & Me

Things i would have to relate to Hamlet. Would not be anything. I don’t have family problems at the moment. My dad is fine and my unlce is Not married with my mom. I don’t have friends spying on me that were sent from my parents or unlce. There is no trust issues and I’m not acting like a rebellion. I see not ghosts and certainly I’m not going to fight my girlfriends brother. Or maybe I don’t have a clue of what I can relate to this story. For now I can not find a common thing that relates to hamlet.

Hamlet Summary Act 1 & 2

In the beginning of the play, a ghost appears to some soldiers. the ghost looks like hamlets father. The soldiers decided to tell hamlet about it. Hamlet was griefing about his fathers death and says how he is disgusted that his mother married his uncle Claudius. Hamlets girlfriend is Ophelia. Ophelia’s father Polonius and Brother Laertes tell her and try to convince her that Hamlet dose not lover her. Ophelia agreeed to not talk to hamlet anymore. Later on Hamlet finally meets this ghost. He noticed that it is his father and decides to talk to him. His fathers said that Claudius killed him by putting poison in his ear. And to avenge his death and to act crazy because it will help him later on. Hamlet told some actors that came to play out the death of his father. Once it was time for the play. Hamlet kept looking at his uncle especially the part of the play where the actors play out the sense where they put poison in the kings ear. Once Claudius saw that he left the audience and went off to pray and admits that he killed his father. Hamlet went after him planning to kill him but once he saw him praying the changed his mind because he believed that he would go to heaven once he killed him which he did not want, he wanted his uncle to go to hell. The fight. Before the match Laertes posioned the tip of his sword and Claudius posioned a cup of wine. During the fight, hamlets mother drink from the posioned cup and the hamlet got struck by the poisonous sword. They fought till they got angry and left there swords. They switched without noticed and hamlet struck Laertes. The mother was to die first and that when Hamlet knew his uncles intentions he forced Claudius to drink out of the cup but stabbed instead they all died. The end.

INVESTING IN ME

Investing in me....I'm not sure of how to answer that. Because what I am doing now with school work and helping my parents out around the house and as well keeping my room clean. I would like to invest my self more which I know I can but for some reason, I feel like I am not putting my best efforts. Which I know I should change but i just need that motivation constantly because sometimes I get distracted and leads my heads elsewhere. Like I've been thinking about a job and the iPhone XR and as well the Apple watch series 4. But anyways I would like to invest more in myself and future by making a time management and also putting more time on my school work. And perhaps get a job to make some sort of money for my needs and wants and some type of help for my parents and if the job gets to much for my school work then ill have to quit that job and focus on my education

As well of being opened minded to be more knowledgeable and not to be ignorant and be truthful. this character would be pure and also wise.

TODAY I LEARNED FROM AN AUTHOR (classmate)

The author said that he just came up with the story by just keep adding things to his story he was making. And his story was made up Non-fiction, and how their imagination just leads them to write.

MY READERS SPEAK

The information I got back was if it the character was based on a true being or just made up. The character was based on a made-up character from my own imagination. the whole story was made for the reader to catch interest and also to start to wonder what is going to happen next. Another question I was asked what made me think of this story. What made me make this story or inspired me to think of this was a cartoon named Rick and Morty and also goosebumps. Tried to make it interesting and tried to make a good hook.

A Story in Progress.

Once upon a time... A 17-Year-old teen named Morty. A teen living in a ghetto city and goes to Santa May High School. He has an average life and a pretty normal family. Morty wakes up thinking of what is going to happen this school day if anything exciting or interesting going to happen but he only hoped. He knew it might be the same as always. same boring stuff as always. Morty is not doing badly in school but its just the same thing learning and doing homework he felt like he actually wanted to make a change, He could only wish at the moment that he was rich since the only thing you can make a change is by having money, with money he could help out his family and those who are in need. He got ready for school that day on Oct 27, He was on his phone on his way to school and found out that people are making conspiracy theories for oct 28 about how there are signs about aliens coming to take over earth or visit, he just put the phone back into his pocket. thinking of how dumb that is. he arrives to class and his friend he usually sits to starts to take about if he heard the rumors about aliens trying to take over. He's the type of friend that would believe about almost everything. Morty just mentioned that he should not believe everything he sees on the internet. once school hit lunch break he was hanging out with his friends and all of sudden they all felt a huge thud on the floor. he noticed people started to talk about how their phone died or that their phones are not working for some reason. one of his friend from the group he was hanging out said that his phone is not working as well. Morty checked him and it was dead. he assumed it was just a weird thing that some people did not charge their phone and neither did he. So the whole city was with no electricity. School ended and went home. He did his homework and ate with his family and his parents were talking about work without electricity and Morty also told them about what happened at school with the electricity problem. After dinner, Morty decided to walk his dog. when he was about to leave he heard his mom yell "yes the electricity came back. Morrty was relieved and told bye to his parents and that he will be back after his walk. He made it to passed the park and he looked up in the sky and noticed a huge white light coming towards him, A big flash that he only saw pure white. He woke in the morning in his bed. He thought it was just a dream but wanted to make sure if it did happen so when he was about to get out his room to tell his parents he grabbed the doorknob slightly and once he let go of it, he noticed he squeezed it just like butter. He was gifted with super strength.

Literature Analysis, The Great Gatsby

The book is beeing told by (Narrator) Nick Carraway,  He moves to east cost as a bond trader in Manhattan. Where old money people live. Nick reconnects with his cousin Daisy. From there he meets Daisy friend  Jordan. Tom( Daisy's husband) Takes Nick to his mistress Myrtle. Myrtle is married to George. A love affair. Nick meets one of the main characters Gatsby when Nick was attended one of Gatsby party, he has noticed that no one has actually seen Gatsby in the flesh but only attended guests spread rumors about him at his party.
2. The theme would be romance, and also money and dramas
3. I would say his mornings are lonely or calm, not too exciting. maybe wake up and take a warm shower and get a coffee and read a newspaper. The author's breakfast would be scrambled eggs with a piece of bacon. His tone is sad and lonely. I feel like he put himself as the Gatsby because his character is lonesome and seems sad because he is rich and has no one to share his things with.
4. Diction is used repeatedly, numbers of words that can describe the same thing. Imagery is used to describe the billboard that has two eyes of Eckleburg. Alliteration was used when Fitzgerald when describing Gatsby outfit. Saying "Suite, Silver, Shirt". Foreshadowing and flashbacks when Nick says "I've been drunk twice in my life, and the second was that night. Symbol, The green light in the book symbolizes Gatsby's immense desire for Daisy.
Next Level:
1. A teacher chose this book for the whole class to read. and she has mentioned that most people did not like the book. She also said that she was not amazed from reading it but then she said the second time she read it that she started to get more into it and actually enjoying it. Another thing she mentioned was that you can either like it or dislike it, but just to keep an open mind and I did. and just a few chapters into it and I was liking it already.
2. What kept me reading was the hook of the story. The questions i wondered was, who is gatsby and where is the story leading too.
3. My reading habits are bad, I have to find an interesting book with a good hook. i dont read often. When i do a few days later i find it boring.

Aristotle worked with Plato for some time. Poetics does not work with Geek theater but geek theater working with poetics.

COMPARING NOTES

How do the words you choose, create an impression of who you are? If you use your words loud and strong could be that your a loud person and you say what you think and if you use your words quite you can be either shy or just calm. Also, how you use your words in tone and you use them with your actions can also impersonalize you, Point is how you use your words what with you do and how you say they can make an impression of you, you can be loud, silent, calm etc. I would try to do better at explaining myself next time, I feel like this was sloppy, sorry about that. but I got math HW!

THE WEEK IN REVIEW

This week in class I got new pieces of new knowledge about philosophers. Philosophers have a very different way of seeing things and just thinking out of the box and they are very wise. In my opinion, I think philosophers are great and I want to be at that level of thinking and writing and expressing myself. I admire them for the way they question life and the things around them. Also how writing goes deeper than just words what i mean by that is we were talking in class how you can tell how the writer(Author) is feeling toward the character or stage and even audience( the reader)because you are just reading a book that has no way of showing feeling or anything of course but only the printed words in the book, you can tell how the Author is feeling those things by Diction, description, syntax, and characterization and also imagery/ figurative language these  are all clues for tone of the author.  Also, it's letting me bloom but in a very slow paste. These assignments on the blog are not hard to do but also I need to know how to let my thinking come clear so I can show how I feel about what I'm writing about and if I make my point clear.

The Canterbury Tales

Written by Geoffrey Chaucer. An English poet was born in London 1342(uncertain of the date of birth) Also Chaucer was from a family of successful merchants. Not enough information about where he studied but there is some education in Latin and Greek. Chaucer married a woman named Philippa Roet when he was the age around 23 and had 3 or 4 children. Chaucer died in October 1400 and was buried in Westminster Abbey in London. He is also known as The Father of English Literature. The Canterbury Tales is about a storytelling contest by a group of pilgrims as they travel together on a journey from London to Canterbury to visit the shrine of Saint Thomas Becket at Canterbury Cathedral. The prize for this contest is a free meal at the Tabard Inn at Southwark on their return.

Tone

How can tone be described when you are reading a book? How can you feel the emotion of the words of the author when there is no physical contact for what so ever? The only present thing is the words written in the book by that author. Well, Diction, description, syntax and characterization and also imagery/ figurative language are all clues for tone. Its something you feel and opposed to material or physical things.

The Making of the satire

Well first off I had to choose something that was a real life problem and I chose insurance companies. I had to get info about it and see how their system works,. and as well look the problems of it. I feel like I did not make my satire dramatic enough or wrap my whole thoughts about it. i did lack of work on it, to be honest, but my point was to make the reader realize that insurance companies and the law to have an insurance is just messed up, if you get badly injured and need a surgery or a cure thats out there and you have no money or insurance then you can not get that treatment, knowing that the cure or help is there but can not get it because money. and that insurance companies can be theft. and if you don't have insurance you still have to pay. some people won't have any problems and still have to pay for insurance or pay from there tax. and we should truly make a change to that. or be more aware of it. and i will continue to edit my satire because i feel it needs more work

Satire

Insurance companies are very good and beneficial for you. All the things we can do With it. We all have to have insurance! its the law to have one if you choose not to have health insurance, you will be fined imposed under the affordable care act, The fines will be due when you file your taxes. The fine for the 2017 tax year is 2.5% of the whole total household goos income. If you make $100,000 you'd have to pay $2,500. So insurance or not you still have to pay up. Insurance can protect you if you ever need it, but insurance does not help with getting lawyers. insurance companies will take complete advantage without lawyers or any legal system keeping them in check so we should fully trust them and let them do what would be best for us. Insurance industries have money to pass laws forcing you to buy there product but they can arbitrarily raise your rates!they should might as well take control of everything

I AM GSD

My independent learning has gone fine, it has let myself explore more and put my ideas here. I feel like they might need work but also this the place to improve my thinking. I would also say that sometimes I don't know what to say or how to express myself at times. Aswell that this independent learning is doing it my own way there is no one proper way to do it so that's what I like about independent learning. I hope that this will help my improvement of thinking and also of expressing myself.

Satire

The condition of not being able to pronounce the letter R is called… “rhotacism.” the irony of that as for Q-tips, which are bought primarily to clean inside ears, are sold in boxes that expressly warn; Do not insert inside the ear canal. Also the school food, when they make you get your fruit or packets or veggies or fruit even when you don't want it you Have to get it or they will get mad at you and tell you to get it, and once you do it goes back to the basket or in the trash, as well for the school they want you to eat healthily and be healthy but... the orange juice has so much sugar, as well for the muffins and more unhealthy things. also how the school makes so much money by selling junk food in the food carts and getting money from government they still can't fix up some rooms, like in my 4th period the top of the ceiling a small portion is missing, and also the chairs, anyways its a school and it should be Fit for students. Oh and also sad how seniors cant go out of campus no more. as well of checking ids in the gates, I know it a safety precaution. but a really bad person with bad motives can easily jump a fence or just get a similar id that looks like ours,

How I Learn

How i learn, i try to keep my backpack and whats in my backpack organized, so i know where to put stuff or where should my things be. As well as my room, i keep it clean first so once i get to study my work space would be clear and i get comfortable. I don't real organize my time, but i should, because its important to keep my time management, so i can get everything done in time. How i learn in school, is first not to get distracted and also to ask questions when i am lost, and if i fall behind in note taking i try to ask someone around me to help me or let me take down the note i missed. Remembering new information can be hard sometimes, that's why the best thing to try and remember is to write it down somewhere or type it in your phone so you know where it is and to help you remember.

A Modest Proposal

The "Modest Proposal" mentions the problems in Ireland about overpopulation and how there are many poor people as well as children not getting the treatment they need from parents which they can not provide. Also, the author describes and tells this article in a very horrible way but also to bring to attention to the reader. The writer has a point though because he uses facts and basically in Ireland some people act inhuman by killing high number newborn babies or killing children and the writer suggests that might as well eat children for food since also the parents cannot provide. Not sure if that's truly what he suggests or using sarcasm for people reading to spark their minds that there should be a solution to this problem. also mentions how if a poor person raises that child then the chances will be equal to either the child will be a robber or look for a job.

About Montaigne

Montaigne was another philosopher, but a little more different and also he went further by describing how rare wisdom really is. Montaigne did not really like to read books and also thought how somethings in school were not really necessary or just silly. As in other words, we have studied other peoples books way before we study our own minds as he puts it. basically, there is no wrong way to live your life, as long as you strive for wisdom and never far from folly.
We Are Richer Than We Think, Each One Of Us.

The Right To Your Opinion

The right to your opinion is to say what you think about something or someone, In your opinion what you actually truly feel about something or someone. But also to put some limits, like trying to listen to other peoples thoughts and opinions and to not be ignorant about it. Try to or Be open-minded about other ideas/opinions. Use titled to your opinion only when you strongly feel about it and just not being ignorant or selfish about it. See others peoples views.https://youtu.be/Px4fmtMgYG4

SOCRATIC METHOD

In my opinion, using the Socratic method would be great! Its based on asking and answering questions to make you think about more about the problem. Also, it needs to require to think negatively because without it the method would not exist and I see why, because if you are thinking positively then you would not try to say the truth because you would not want to hurt their feelings which in the Socratic Method you have to be in search of the truth which means put all feelings aside and say what it is. Nowadays you hear or listen to people argue and they make it seem like a competition and not truly asking or answering questions which means they truly don't look forward for an agreement, in other words, it is just pointless. Arguments are not a competition it is in search of the truth. If people were to use this method it would be great it will make them come to an understanding.

August 15

Santa Maria High School (Assembly)
When I attended the assembly there were few seats left. Once I found a seat and all the students found a place to sit then the principle started to get the students attention and basically started to talk about how they want us all to do good in school and in life decisions. Also going through some of the rules that most seniors should know about. The only thing that I did not know about is that we can wear whichever hat we want but as long it's not gang-related. Other than that there was no other thing that came to my attention, I asked myself why didn't they just do it for freshmen. They are the new students of this school. Anyways I feel like better things should be brought up in assemblies, for an example how some classes are packed with at least 30 students and can be difficult for teachers to actually teach a large group. Many students have different ways of learning. Also about how the school food just goes to waste, most of the people throw there fruits or veggies. That food can actually feed the homeless or something else helping others than rather getting put in the trash for no cause. As well mention of what we are capable to do, like stand up and try to make a change in this world because many things as racism and gun violence still occur and we as students should be more aware about that and know we can protest and just put it out there. But we can't really change things if we can't get everyone to participate and stand up for it. Any whos I feel like schools should be more involved in things that are going on in the world as well.
